New residential towers set to transform Birmingham skyline at Arena Central

Plans have been submitted by Kier Property for a landmark residential development that will complete the final phase of Birmingham’s Arena Central masterplan.

The proposed Bridge Street scheme will deliver 526 build-to-rent homes across two towers rising to 30 and 17 storeys on plots four and five, just south of Centenary Square.

Designed by TP Bennett, the taller building is set to become the highest on the Arena Central site, marking a significant addition to the city’s evolving skyline. The development will offer a mix of studio, one, two and three bedroom apartments, alongside a strong focus on amenity-led living.

The 17-storey tower will incorporate ground-floor retail and commercial space, while both buildings will feature a range of shared resident facilities including lounges, co-working spaces, dining areas, gyms and cinema rooms reflecting the continued growth of the build-to-rent sector in Birmingham.

Arena Central itself spans 10 plots and has already delivered a mix of commercial and mixed-use schemes, including 1 Centenary Square, home to the UK headquarters of HSBC UK.

The wider project team brings together a strong Midlands and national consultancy line-up, including CBRE, TSA Riley and MGAC, Civic Engineers, Ramboll, Montagu Evans, Paul Basham Associates and Ruth Campbell & Co.
